Referral Program Terms
Last updated: August 2026 — Version: 1.0
These terms govern the Jokaya referral program. They form part of our Terms of Service; participation in the program means you accept them.
1. How the Program Works
Every account has a personal referral link, available on your account page. When someone signs up through your link and starts earning, you receive a referral commission on their activity, as detailed below. There is no limit on how many people you can refer, and no limit on total referral earnings.
2. Commission Rate and Who Pays It
The referral commission is 10% of the earnings credited to your referral. Two points we want to be unambiguous about, because the industry often is not:
- The commission is paid by Jokaya, out of our own margin. It is never deducted from your referral's earnings. A referred user earns exactly the same amounts as a user who signed up with no referrer. Referring someone costs them nothing, ever.
- The rate applies to earnings from offers your referral completes. It does not compound: you do not earn commission on your referral's own referral commissions, nor on bonuses we grant at our discretion (such as promotional or goodwill credits).
3. Calculation Base
Your commission is calculated on the dollar amount actually credited to your referral for validated offer conversions. Worked example: your referral completes an offer paying $8.00. They are credited $8.00 (their full reward, untouched). We separately credit you $0.80. If they then complete a $40.00 offer, they get $40.00 and you get $4.00.
4. Timing: Your Commission Follows the Source Conversion
Referral commissions mirror the life cycle of the conversion they come from:
- When your referral's offer credit is created, your commission is credited at the same time and enters its own holding period, aligned with the source credit's maturity.
- If the advertiser network reverses your referral's conversion, your commission on it is reversed too — including after it has appeared in your balance, under the same rules as any credit (see the Rewards & Payment Policy). We cannot pay commission on earnings that were clawed back.
- Commissions count toward your withdrawal threshold and are redeemed exactly like ordinary earnings.
5. How Attribution Works (and Its Edge Cases)
A new user is attributed to you when they create their account through your referral link, or enter your referral code during sign-up where that option is offered. Practical rules:
- Attribution happens at sign-up and is permanent. A user cannot be re-attributed to a different referrer later, and we do not retroactively attach existing accounts to a referrer ("I told my friend about the site last year" cannot be credited, because we have no honest way to verify it).
- First referrer wins. If someone clicks links from two different referrers, the account belongs to the link actually used at sign-up.
- The referral must be a real, eligible new user. Accounts that are closed for fraud, that violate the one-account-per-household rule, or that were never genuinely operated by a distinct person generate no commission, and commissions already paid on their activity are reversed.
- You can see your referrals' contribution, not their identity. Your dashboard shows the number of active referrals and the commissions generated. To protect their privacy, we do not show you who they are, what offers they complete, or their balances — only your own commission entries.
- If your referral closes their account, commissions already validated remain yours; future commissions simply stop.
6. Self-Referral Is Prohibited
Referring yourself — signing up through your own link with a second account, or having a household member create an account you control — is prohibited and is treated as a multiple-account violation under the Prohibited Conduct policy. We detect self-referrals through IP address matching, device fingerprinting, and behavioral signals. Detected self-referrals result in removal of the commissions and, depending on severity, the graduated penalties described in that policy. If two genuinely separate people share an address or connection (roommates, family), contact contact@canopia.cloud before one refers the other, and we will note the situation on both accounts to prevent false flags.
7. Promotion Rules
When sharing your link, you must:
- Be honest. Do not promise guaranteed earnings, misrepresent payout amounts, or pose as an official Jokaya representative.
- Not spam. No bulk unsolicited messages, comment spam, or posting in communities that prohibit referral links.
- Not bid on Jokaya brand keywords in paid search, or register domains or social handles confusingly similar to ours.
- Not offer people payment or incentives to sign up through your link (networks treat incentivized referrals of this kind as fraud, and their conversions get reversed — which reverses your commissions anyway).
Violations can lead to removal from the program and, for serious cases, the penalties in the Prohibited Conduct policy.
8. Changes to the Program
We may change the commission rate or these terms with 30 days' advance notice, given by email and by notice on this page with an updated version number. Rate changes apply prospectively only: commissions on conversions credited before the effective date are honored at the old rate. We may terminate the program entirely with the same 30 days' notice; commissions already credited survive the program's termination and follow the normal maturity and reversal rules.
9. Questions
Anything unclear — an expected commission that did not appear, a household situation, a promotion channel you are unsure about: contact@canopia.cloud. Asking first is always free.
