Prohibited Conduct
Last updated: August 2026 — Version: 1.0
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It exists for one reason: advertiser networks pay for genuine users taking genuine actions. Fraudulent activity gets entire platforms cut off from networks, which destroys the earning opportunity for every honest user. So we enforce these rules seriously — and, just as seriously, we enforce them fairly: penalties are graduated, decisions involving money are made by humans, and every decision can be appealed.
1. Prohibited Behavior
1.1 Multiple accounts
One account per person, per household, and per device. Creating or operating additional accounts — including through family members' identities — is prohibited. Advertisers treat duplicate household or device conversions as fraud and reverse them, so duplicate accounts directly cost the platform money. If two adults in your household each genuinely want an account, contact contact@canopia.cloud first; we can approve documented cases.
1.2 VPNs, proxies, and location misrepresentation
Using a VPN, proxy, or similar tool to appear in a different country or region and access geo-targeted offers you are not eligible for is prohibited. Advertisers pay for users in specific markets; spoofed locations are the single largest cause of mass reversals. Using a VPN for general privacy while browsing is your business — but disconnect it before clicking offers, both because of this rule and because it breaks tracking.
1.3 Emulators and virtual devices
Completing mobile app offers in emulators, virtual machines, cloud phones, or device farms is prohibited. App advertisers pay for real installs on real devices and detect emulated environments.
1.4 False information to advertisers
Entering fabricated personal information, disposable phone numbers, or other false data into an advertiser's forms to complete an offer is prohibited. It defrauds the advertiser and typically constitutes a crime under US and French law. Surveys deserve honest answers; sign-ups deserve your real information.
1.5 Automation and bots
Scripts, bots, macros, click farms, or any automation used to click, complete, or farm offers is prohibited, as is any attempt to submit conversions not generated by your own genuine activity.
1.6 Account sharing and resale
Selling, renting, lending, or sharing your account, and buying or using someone else's account, are prohibited. Balances and credits are personal and non-transferable.
1.7 Exploiting bugs and vulnerabilities
If you find a flaw that credits you incorrectly — double crediting, a manipulable postback, a catalog mispricing — you must report it to contact@canopia.cloud and stop using it. Deliberately exploiting a flaw for gain is prohibited. We thank good-faith reporters; where a report prevents real loss we may award a discretionary bounty.
1.8 Other abuse
Also prohibited: attacking or overloading the platform, scraping user data, harassment or abuse of support staff, laundering criminal proceeds through redemptions, and helping anyone else do anything on this list.
2. How We Detect Violations
We use automated signals — device fingerprints, IP analysis, conversion patterns, network fraud flags — plus reports from advertiser networks and manual review. As stated in our Privacy Policy, automated scoring can freeze a redemption, but no ban or balance forfeiture happens without a human reviewing the case.
3. Graduated Consequences
Penalties are proportionate to the severity and intent of the violation. In the normal course they escalate through these levels:
- Warning. For minor or plausibly accidental issues (e.g. a VPN left on from ordinary browsing). We tell you what we saw and what to change. No balance impact beyond any network reversals.
- Account freeze. Redemptions are suspended while we investigate; earning may also be paused. We aim to resolve freezes within 14 days and tell you the outcome either way.
- Forfeiture of tainted balance. Credits obtained through the violation are removed. Credits demonstrably earned legitimately are honored where the networks paid us for them.
- Permanent ban. For serious, deliberate, or repeated violations: the account is closed, the remaining balance associated with the fraudulent activity is forfeited, and returning under a new identity is itself a violation.
We reserve the right to skip levels for severe cases — organized fraud rings, automation at scale, or criminal conduct do not get a warning first. We may also report criminal activity to law enforcement.
4. Appeals — A Real Process, Not a Black Hole
Every enforcement decision can be appealed. The process:
- Email contact@canopia.cloud with the subject "Appeal", from the email address on your account, within 30 days of the decision. Tell us what happened in your own words and include anything that supports your case (for example: proof of separate identities in a household, evidence you actually completed an offer, an explanation of unusual network activity).
- A human who was not involved in the original decision reviews your appeal. Automated tools inform the review but do not decide it.
- You receive a substantive response within 7 days. If we need more time (for example, waiting on an advertiser network's evidence), we will tell you within those 7 days and give you a date.
- If the appeal succeeds, we restore the account and any wrongly removed credits. If it fails, we explain why, and — where doing so does not expose fraud-detection methods that would help bad actors — we share the key evidence.
Appeals genuinely succeed here. Anti-fraud systems have false positives; shared student housing, carrier-grade NAT, and family devices can look like duplicate accounts. If that is your situation, say so — it is exactly what the human review is for.
5. A Note on Fair Play
These rules are not traps. Everything on this list describes behavior that takes money from advertisers, from the platform, or from other users. If you are ever unsure whether something is allowed — a second household account, a privacy tool, an unusual setup — ask us at contact@canopia.cloud before doing it, and we will give you a straight answer in writing.
